Bengaluru Techie Atul Subhash Dies by Suicide
Atul Subhash was working as a senior executive at a private firm in Bangalore. He was living alone after separation from his wife and had been embroiled in a marital dispute.
The police also came to understand that his estranged wife had filed a domestic violence case against him in Uttar Pradesh.
This could have contributed to the mental anguish that led Atul Subhash to take this extreme step of ending his life.
Atul Subhash’s suicide letter also raised unpleasant questions since, in his 24-page suicide note, he accused both the police and judiciary of being corrupt and biased.
Atul Subhash had carefully planned his final act and had emailed his suicide note to a number of his friends and also shared it with a WhatsApp group of an NGO of which he was a member.
He also hung a postcard outside his home which read,
“Justice is due.”
Atul Subhash had tried his best to showcase the harassment he had endured and to make people understand his narrative.
He also revealed that his in-laws demanded Rs 3 crores to settle the false cases registered against him.
Meanwhile, police officials have confirmed that a case of unnatural death has been registered and, based on a complaint by a neighbour, Subhash’s wife and her relatives have been charged with abetment to the suicide.
The police also stated that an investigation has been launched to uncover the circumstances that led the techie to take this extreme step.
Netizens have also reacted to the tragic story, and hashtags #JusticeForAtulSubhash and #MenToo are trending.
