Bhagwant Mann Criticized for Disrespecting Bhagat Singh’s Legacy: Punjab BJP chief

Punjab BJP President Slams CM For Insulting Bhagat Singh’s Birthplace

Chandigarh, April 7 (IANS) Punjab unit BJP president Sunil Jakhar criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for using Bhagat Singh’s birthplace to support Arvind Kejriwal. AAP leaders held protests against Kejriwal’s arrest, with Mann leading a state-level protest at Khatkar Kalan in Nawanshahr.

Jakhar condemned Mann’s actions as “despicable” and stated that Punjabis will not tolerate such disrespect to their freedom fighters. He warned the Chief Minister against manipulating people’s sentiments for political gain, highlighting the AAP’s involvement in liquor scams.

Jakhar called out Mann for ignoring serious issues like the incident in Tarn Taran, where a woman was paraded without clothes while the government remained inactive. He criticized the government’s failure to maintain law and order, expressing concern over the deteriorating situation in the state.

The Punjab BJP president emphasized that such divisive tactics by the AAP to divert attention from corruption scandals will not succeed. He urged Mann to address pressing issues affecting the state instead of indulging in political theatrics at the expense of historical legacies like Bhagat Singh’s birthplace.

Jakhar’s remarks underscore the growing tensions between political parties in Punjab as they navigate through ongoing controversies and public discontent. The BJP’s strong stance against the AAP’s actions reflects the escalating political turmoil in the state, setting the stage for further confrontations in the coming days.
