Bill Gates and Smriti Irani set to attend a ‘good nutrition’ event in Delhi on February 29

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is set to attend the Ministry of Women and Child Development event focusing on ‘good nutrition’ in New Delhi on Thursday. Gates, along with Union Minister Smriti Zubin Irani, will be part of the Poshan Utsav to spread awareness about the importance of nutrition. The event will see the release of the Poshan Utsav Book and a Cartoon Coalition’s support for the cause.

The Poshan Utsav aims to combat malnutrition and promote healthier lifestyles among children by using popular cartoon characters to advocate for holistic nutrition. The collaboration between the ministry and Amar Chitra Katha is expected to engage children through storytelling and drive positive behavior change for better nutritional outcomes nationwide.

The Poshan Utsav Book, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, seeks to revive ancient nutrition practices and serve as a comprehensive guide on food from various perspectives. It will facilitate knowledge exchange and appreciation of the country’s culinary heritage and nutritional diversity.

Bill Gates expressed his excitement about visiting India in a post on LinkedIn earlier this week, highlighting his interest in learning about India’s innovative approaches to improve health, digital public infrastructure, and climate for the betterment of billions. The event promises to be a milestone in the efforts to address malnutrition and promote healthier lifestyles among children through collaboration and awareness initiatives.
