Bindu Priya, the Hyderabad Woman Dies During Childbirth in New Jersey, Husband Initiates GoFundMe Campaign 

A woman hailing from Hyderabad, India named Bindu Priya met with a tragic accident. Bindu Priya passed away while giving birth in New Jersey, US.

In the wake of this heart-wrenching incident, the Indian woman’s husband, Anjani Srikar Bandla, launched a GoFundMe campaign. Anjani Srikar had done so to raise funds to repatriate his wife’s remains to India to organize her funeral rites.

Anjani Srikar Bandla said that his wife lost her life on March 29, Friday. According to the GoFundMe page, he wrote, “God gave a gift and took a life away.”

GoFundMe Campaign Launched For Bindu Priya

Anjani Srikar Bandla added, “Hi. My name is Srikar. My wife died in childbirth yesterday unexpectedly. We have to transport her to India. If anyone can help anyway, it is greatly appreciated. It will be used for expediting and other funeral processions. Thank you very much.”

As of April 1, the crowdfunding campaign initiated by Srikar raised nearly $40,000 for Bindu Priya’s funeral out of the total target of $60,000. 

According to TimesNow, various members of the Indian community in the US who came across the GoFundMe page have donated to the cause. Several people have also extended condolences to Srikar and their newborn baby. 

Until now, the specific circumstances surrounding Bindu’s death have not been announced yet. It is only known that Bindu died while giving birth. 

Childbirth Deaths In The US

This tragic incident occurring in the US sheds light on the skyrocketing rates of maternal mortality in the US, reported Siasat.com.

The Journal of the American Medical Association published a report in August 2023, which unveiled that between 1999 and 2019, the childbirth-related deaths and the risk of pregnancy have doubled. It has also affected all ethnic and racial groups.
