BJP claims Cong is threatening voters and assaulting party workers in Bengaluru Rural

The BJP has accused the Congress of harassing its workers and creating a reign of terror in the Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha seat where Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s brother is contesting. BJP’s Dr C.N. Manjunath will challenge Congress’ sitting MP, D.K. Suresh in the upcoming election.

State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra condemned the Shivakumar brothers for instilling fear in the Bengaluru Rural district. He stated, “They are indulging in acts of assaulting BJP workers and threatening the voters.” The BJP alleges that Congress leaders in the constituency are resorting to brutal attacks on BJP-JD(S) workers.

Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka criticized DyCM D.K. Shivakumar and his brother D.K. Suresh for engaging in goondaism due to their fear of defeat in the Bengaluru Rural parliamentary seat. Ashoka also questioned CM Siddaramaiah’s inaction against the goondas of the Congress party who assaulted BJP workers, stating, “Whom are you protecting CM Siddaramaiah?”

Former DyCM and BJP MLA Dr C.N. Ashwath Narayan raised concerns over the reported cases of assault within the last 24 hours. He questioned whether the state government in Karnataka is protecting criminals behind the brutal assaults to secure victory in the Bengaluru Rural Seat. He demanded the Election Commission to ensure a fair and fear-free election process.

The BJP alleged that a member of the Kempanahalli village panchayat, campaigning for Dr C.N. Manjunath, was attacked and stabbed. Another BJP worker, Naveen, was also attacked for campaigning in the constituency. The victims have been hospitalized and police are investigating the crimes. The BJP has called for action against such incidents in Bengaluru Rural.
