BJP issues show-cause notice to Dilip Ghosh for his comments on CM Mamata Banerjee

The BJP issued a show-cause notice to Dilip Ghosh, party candidate from Bardhaman-Durgapur in West Bengal, for making derogatory comments about CM Mamata Banerjee. Trinamool Congress filed a complaint against Ghosh, prompting the notice. Ghosh has been asked to apologize and explain his comments.

Ghosh admitted to receiving the notice and clarified that he has no personal enmity with the CM. He stated that his comments were in response to her political statements. He also questioned why the TMC did not address derogatory remarks made against a BJP MLA’s father, hinting at Suvendu Adhikari and his father Sisir Adhikari.

The notice comes after TMC lodged a complaint with the Election Commission through the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in West Bengal. Ghosh’s comments have raised concerns within the state BJP unit, prompting the party to take action against him. Ghosh defended his remarks, emphasizing that they were a response to political provocations by the CM.
