BJP lodges complaint with ECI over Sanjay Raut’s alleged derogatory comments about PM Modi

The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut for allegedly making derogatory remarks about PM Modi. BJP Secretary Vivekanand Gupta accused Raut of comparing PM Modi to Aurangzeb, violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Gupta claimed that Raut’s statements could intensify differences and breed hatred among different groups. He emphasized that the remarks were intended to tarnish PM Modi’s reputation and could disrupt the election environment in the state.

Calling for strict action, Gupta said, “The Election Commission should take this complaint seriously and take punitive measures against Raut. We expect that necessary steps, including filing an FIR, will be taken promptly.” The complaint has been forwarded to the Mumbai District Election Officer and the Senior Inspector of Bhoiwada police station.
