BJP to go solo in all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab

The BJP announced its decision to contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab independently after talks with the SAD remained inconclusive. The Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar stated that the decision was made for the bright future of the state, citing works done under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

SAD, a longstanding ally of BJP, ended its ties due to differences over farm laws. SAD chief Sukhbir Badal is working to rebuild the party. His wife, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, is discussing state-specific issues in Parliament. The party hinted at going solo in the upcoming polls.

The resolution passed by SAD’s core committee emphasized resolving Punjab and Sikh-related issues before forming an alliance with BJP. The decision was seen as a step towards going solo in the elections. As SAD and BJP part ways, the political landscape in Punjab undergoes a significant change.
