Bobby Kataria Arrested For Human Trafficking; Other Pending Cases Against Him Explored
Bobby Kataria, who is also known as Balwant Kataria, has dominated the media headlines. He is a 38-year-old social media influencer who was arrested on May 27, Monday, reported Money Control.
Bobby Kataria was arrested on charges of fraud, human trafficking, and other offenses.
According to Karan Goel, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), the 38-year-old promised Manish Tomar and Arun Kumar, two Uttar Pradesh residents, the assurance of jobs in Singapore and the UAE, in exchange for ₹4 lakh each.
However, as a surprise, the two residents of Uttar Pradesh were taken to Laos. After reaching there, their passports were confiscated. They were forcefully employed in an illegal call center.
Kumar and Tomar worked in the illicit call center for two days. However, then they managed to escape to the Indian embassy in Vientiane. Later, they were repatriated to India by the embassy people.

Bobby Kataria is a famous social media influencer, having over 3 lakh followers on his Instagram handle. He belongs to Gurugram. Kataria also describes himself as a powerlifter and competitive bodybuilder at both state and all-time event levels.
He has flooded his social media with nutrition and fitness tips. In February 2023, Bobby Kataria kickstarted a consultancy business where he provided employment opportunities and consultancy services for once seeking it abroad.
Bobby Kataria is quite famous for promoting gang and gun violence and creating controversial content on social media platforms.
Times Now reported that, two years back, Bobby Kataria had an engagement with the law. Delhi Police caught him while smoking on an airplane in September 2022.
Again in August 2022, he shared a video featuring himself blocking a road while drinking in public. Therefore, he was issued a non-bailable warrant by a Dehradun court.
In the same, he was also arrested by the Gurgram police for spreading derogatory words to a woman and assaulting her on social media. This case is still pending in court.
