Bodies of two minor girls discovered in water-filled pit in Uttar Pradesh village

Auraiya, March 24 (IANS) – The bodies of two minor girls, Meenakshi and Payal, were discovered in a pond in Daulatpur village, Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh. The girls, aged 8 and 11, were students of Basic School and had gone out to play before their tragic demise.

According to Superintendent of Police Charu Nigam, the bodies were found in a water-filled pit, with their toys made from pond mud nearby. It is suspected that the girls accidentally fell into the pond while playing, leading to their drowning. No signs of foul play were evident, pending the post-mortem report for further clarity.

Meenakshi and Payal, students of Classes 3 and 4, went missing after leaving home to play post-school hours on Friday. Their bodies were discovered floating in the pond the following day. The community is mourning the loss of the young girls as investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances surrounding their untimely deaths.
