Bollywood Backs PM Modi’s Lakshadweep Tourism Push

In the wake of exacerbated bilateral tensions between India and Maldives, several actors, and actresses from the Bollywood movie industry came forward to support trending hashtags, #boycottMaldives, and #ExploreIndianIslands.

The list of various Bollywood celebrities includes Shraddha Kapoor, John Abraham, Salman Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Karthik Aryan, and many more. Until now, these celebrities have backed and supported the hashtag, #ExploreIndianIslands.

Bollywood Celebs Rally for Lakshadweep Tourism Post PM Modi’s Visit

Last week when the current PM of India, Shri Narendra Modi visited the Islands, the hashtag started trending on X, formerly Twitter. He went on to set the foundation stone of five models of Anganwadi centers, the renovation of the primary healthcare facility along the inauguration of the e Submarine Optical Fiber Connection on the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands.

PM Modi, during his visit to the island, enjoyed a quality time at the beach and later posted images, which went viral with the #ExploreIndianIslands hashtag as well. This resulted in Bollywood celebrities coming forward and promoting the Indian island, a must-visit for Indians. John Abraham posting pictures of himself at the Indian beach wrote, “With the amazing Indian hospitality, the idea of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ and a vast marine life to explore. Lakshwadeep is the place to go. #exploreindianislands.”

The “Bhaijaan” of Bollywood, Salman Khan also penned down his happiness witnessing PM Modi in Lakshadweep. He said, “It is so cool to see our Hon PM Narendrabhai Modi at the beautiful clean, and stunning beaches of Lakshadweep, and the best part is that yeh hamare India mein hain.”

Getting too impressed by the pristine blue water and scenic view, Janhvi Kapoor also wrote, “Are these pristine blue waters real? How beautiful is Lakshadweep! So glad to see this treasure in our country is getting the attention it deserves. Can’t wait to #ExploreIndianIslands.”

Emphasizing the incredibility of India, Kartik Aaryan stated, “Incredible India is not just a tag, our beautiful country has some of the most incredible and stunning locales and #Lakshadweep is an example of it- a heaven-like place in India itself! The cute Shraddha Kapoor also came forward to praise Lakshadweep and mentioned that she felt FOMO. Along with these, Randeep Hooda also joined the list of people boosting tourism in India. He wrote, “India is so beautiful.
