Bracewell to lead New Zealand in T20Is against Pakistan; Robinson earns debut call-up

New Zealand have named Michael Bracewell as captain for the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi and Lahore. Bracewell, who returns to international cricket after an injury layoff, has been praised for his leadership qualities and experience.

The all-rounder has worked hard to come back from his injuries, impressing selectors with his recent performances in domestic cricket. New Zealand selector Sam Wells highlighted Bracewell’s leadership skills, making him a natural choice for the captaincy role in Pakistan.

Bracewell will lead a squad featuring a mix of experienced T20I players and promising youngsters. Tim Robinson and Will O’Rourke have been included in the squad for the first time, with selectors impressed by their performances in domestic and international cricket.

Robinson’s explosive batting and exceptional fielding earned him a spot in the squad, while O’Rourke’s impressive debut performances in other formats have caught the selectors’ eyes. The upcoming series in Pakistan will provide them with an opportunity to showcase their skills in challenging conditions.

The tour schedule includes five T20I matches, with the first three games scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi and the final two in Lahore. The series promises to be an exciting contest between two competitive teams, with Bracewell leading the charge for New Zealand in his first assignment as captain.
