Breaking Barriers, Building Futures: Highlights of Women’s Achievements at the 4th Annual BRICS CCI WE Summit

New Delhi, March 8 (IANS) – The BRICS CCI WE hosted its fourth Annual Summit and Felicitations 2024 with a focus on women-led development. The event saw the unveiling of a report on tech and business for women empowerment, as well as the convocation of the first batch of participants in the Global Women Leadership Programme.

The summit, attended by diplomats from various countries, featured guest speakers like Sonal Mansingh, Shazia Ilmi, Swati Singh, Sanjay Bhattacharyya, and Ajay Chaudhary. The event emphasized the transition from women’s development to women-led development, highlighting the need to empower women to lead and shape their communities.

Chief guest Sonal Mansingh stressed the importance of women’s leadership in building a more equitable society. The event also honored extraordinary women like Poonam Dhillon, Raimati Ghiuria, Meenakshi Gopinath, and Latika Bhandari for their contributions to women’s empowerment.

The Director General of BRICS CCI, B.B.L. Madhukar, highlighted the importance of promoting women-led development through collaboration among BRICS nations. The event also recognized emerging women entrepreneurs for their innovative contributions to economic growth and empowerment.

The summit saw engaging discussions on women-led development, including education, enterprise, financial literacy, and leadership mentoring. Eminent panelists shared insights on advancing women’s leadership and catalyzing inclusive development globally.
