Shooting Incident at Brookland Metro Station on Monroe Street, Washington DC: One Casualty Reported
The Brookland metro shooting has invaded the media headlines as an injured person was discovered in critical condition, reported The Washington Post.
This incident occurred on Thursday afternoon inside Brookland Metro Station, located northeast of Washington DC. The person who was shot was later discovered on the platform.
The name and identity of the victim can not be found out yet. However, it is known that the victim is a male teenager. After the gunfire exchange at the Brookland metro shooting took place, he was transferred to a local hospital.
An investigation was launched collectively by the metro transit police and DC police to look after the incident. At 860 Monroe Street, the police officials rushed to the station.
The Washington DC Fire Department officers along with Police Officers reached the scene where the Brookland metro shooting occurred around 4 pm, local time. They found the victim, injured by a shot.
The medical staff arrived at the scene quickly and took the victim to the local hospital. As per TimesNow, despite providing emergency response and CPR, the male teenager could not survive.
Details of the Suspect in Brookland Metro Shooting
The DC police have shared a picture of an individual of interest donning a gray and black hoodie. CCTV has captured the alleged person behind the crime storming out of the Metro Station. Also, he covered his face with a mask.
The Police Department issued an alert on various social media sites and wrote,
“Lookout is for a black male, light skin, black jacket, black hoody, gray square backpack, light blue jeans, and black and white shoes.”
A manhunt was rolled out, and the police officials were searching for the shooter. Following the Brookland metro shooting incident, the Catholic University of America located in Washington, DC has also issued a “shelter-in-place order.”
