Who Is Bruce Fischer?
Bruce Fisher hails from Valentine and met Deb Fischer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They tied the knot and have been happily married since 1972. The couple has a successful ranching business and are blessed with three sons and three grandchildren.
Harris was overseeing the swearing-in ceremony held overnight in her capacity as the Vice President. Both Harris and Senator Deb Fischer exchanged handshake and smiled at each other
However, when Bruce Fischer was holding the Bible for his wife and Kamala Harris tried to strike a conversation, Bruce Fischer avoided eye contact.
After the swearing-in ceremony, Fischer and Harris shook hands again but when Harris offered her hand to Bruce Fischer, he did not respond.
When Harris offered her congratulations, Bruce simply replied Thank You and placed his hands in his pocket.
The video clearly shows Vice President Kamala Harris extending her hand to congratulate the Nebraska Senator’s husband who nods his head in a cold gesture but does not shake hands. The incident soon became viral on the internet and netizens reacted differently on social media.
One user on X said,
“He’s so blatant about it! The stones on this guy. I want to be just like him when I grow up!”
A second user commented,
“This is the energy that we need with democrats for the next 4 years. We’ve been disrespected for way too long.”
A third user posted,
“Looks to me like he has had enough of their contempt for the American People as well,”
However some did not approve of Bruce’s action and one user said,
“I don’t think this was on purpose but if it was it is highly inappropriate,”
Senator Fischer is representing Nebraska for her third successive term and secured 53% of the votes. The Democrats had not put a candidate against her and Fischer faced a close race against independent challenger Dan Osborn.
Harris had obtained 39% of the vote, winning Nebraska’s Second Congressional District.
