During his budget speech, Sitharaman said, “To remove the old vehicles, we are announcing a separate voluntary vehicle scraping policy. It will encourage fuel-efficient and environment-friendly vehicles. This will reduce vehicular pollution and oil import bill.

Increasing pollution will get rid of

After this policy of the Union Finance Minister, there will be a push in the slow-moving auto sector. After this announcement by the Finance Minister, the problem of increasing pollution can also be overcome to some extent. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced this

It may be noted that recently the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways approved the policy of sending 15-year-old government vehicles in scrap. This policy will be implemented in April 2022. Under this, 15-year-old vehicles used in public sector companies including the central and state governments will be removed. At present, this policy has a year and two months to implement.

It Will help to remove about 28 million vehicles

It may be noted that earlier in May 2016, the Central Government had drafted the Voluntary Vehicle Fleet Moderation Program to remove old vehicles from the road. According to an estimate of the government, after this policy comes to the surface, it will help to remove about 28 million old vehicles of 15 years old.
