Byju’s CEO Arjun Mohan resigns, company to streamline operations into 3 units

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) Arjun Mohan, who was recently appointed as the CEO of Byju, has decided to step down from his position to explore other opportunities. Byju Raveendran, the Co-founder and CEO of the company, will now take a more active role in managing the daily operations.

The move is seen as an effort to streamline the company’s operations and position it for long-term success. Mohan will continue to be a part of Byju in an external advisory role, as stated by the company.

Byju is now restructuring its business into three distinct divisions – The Learning App, Online Classes & Tuition Centres, and Test-prep. Each unit will have separate leaders to ensure sustainable profitability, according to the company.

“This reorganisation marks the start of BYJU’S 3.0 – a leaner and more agile organization ready to quickly adapt to evolving market dynamics,” said Raveendran, highlighting the company’s new direction.

Facing financial challenges, Byju had appointed Mohan as the CEO of its India operations last year. Mohan took over from Mrinal Mohit, the outgoing head of India business, who decided to pursue personal aspirations.

Raveendran emphasized the importance of focusing on core strengths with specialized business units to unlock growth opportunities while maintaining profitability. Byju’s new strategy aims to achieve a more streamlined and adaptive organization in the competitive edtech market.
