Byju’s Operates 262 Tuition Centres, Some Undergoing ‘Strategic Restructuring’

Embattled edtech company Byju’s has confirmed that its tuition centres are celebrating a successful third year with 262 offline locations currently operational across India. Despite reports of closures, the company denies any such reduction, citing plans for strategic restructuring to align with its long-term vision.

According to a company spokesperson, Byju’s is striving for operational efficiency and has identified opportunities for improvement in a small percentage of its tuition centres. The company aims to set new benchmarks in hybrid learning by integrating offline and online resources for enhanced student experience.

The spokesperson highlighted that 90% of Byju’s tuition centres will continue in a hybrid model, leveraging the latest technology to enhance learning outcomes. As part of cost-cutting measures, the company recently transitioned all employees to work from home and streamlined its office spaces, retaining only the Bengaluru headquarters.

Despite facing challenges with salary disbursement for February, Byju’s remains optimistic about its future prospects. The company’s funds are temporarily tied up due to an ongoing NCLT case involving key investors, but it is actively working towards resolving the issue for the benefit of its employees and stakeholders.
