CAG teams up with IIT Delhi for AI-driven audits

CAG Institution and IIT Delhi collaborated in partnership focusing on areas of AI in audit, audit of AI systems, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. The MoU was signed by Anand Mohan Bajaj, CTO & Additional Deputy CAG and Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director, IIT Delhi in the presence of CAG of India Girish Chandra Murmu. Murmu highlighted the importance of AI-driven solutions in improving audit processes.

The partnership aims to leverage AI-driven algorithms and predictive analytics to enhance auditors’ capabilities in analyzing vast amounts of data quickly and accurately, detecting patterns, anomalies, and potential risks more effectively. Automation of routine tasks through AI-powered tools allows auditors to focus on strategic analysis, improving the quality and relevance of audit outcomes.

Girish Chandra Murmu emphasized that the Government of India is leading in adopting AI for Governance and aims to become the Global Hub for AI Innovation as the chair of Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence in 2024. He stated that AI has revolutionized the field of audit, offering numerous opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and insights, contributing to the objectives of the India AI Mission through the MoU.
