California High School in Whittier, Along with Others, Evacuated After Bomb Threats; No Active Threats Found

On Wednesday morning, a bomb threat was reported at Whittier’s High School in California, which resulted in the evacuation of the school.

Whittier Union High School District said in a statement that said that the evacuation protocol started at 11 a.m. shortly after the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department “received information about a bomb threat.”

The statement read, “To ensure the safety of all students, Cal High immediately evacuated students to its stadium while LASD began their sweep of the school grounds.”

The school district confirmed that all the students are safe and secure. No injuries have been reported. Moreover, the threat at the school campus is still under investigation by the Sheriff’s Department, reported ABC7.

A video circulating on the internet from AIR7HD showed that after evacuation hundreds of students were assembled at the football field of the school.

Meanwhile around ten vehicles of the Sheriff’s Department were spotted near the entrance of the school while carrying out a thorough investigation on the campus.

No reports were revealed about the presence of a bomb or injuries from the preliminary investigation. Thus, the Sheriff’s Department added that further investigation occurred at numerous other schools and not just the one on Mills Avenue.

Investigation on Other Schools in California

Along with Whittier’s California High School, two other schools were also investigated on Wednesday. La Cañada Flintridge’s Preparatory School was among the two schools in Los Angeles County that also received a bomb threat on Wednesday.
