California Realtor Arlene Bunch Labeled ‘Racist Karen’ in United Airlines Shuttle Controversy
A deplorable incident happened with photographer Pervez Taufiq, his wife, and their three children in a shuttle bus in Los Angeles, which was ferrying passengers from the United Airlines flight after it landed in Los Angeles.
The incident is believed to have taken place on November 24.
The Indian-American couple was subjected to a racist tirade launched by a woman later identified as a 64-year-old California real estate agent, Arlene Bunch.
It was also reported that the erring lady was severely wounded in an explosion at the Val D’Isere Condominiums in Mammoth Lakes last year.
The incident was caught on camera, and in the video, the woman can be seen hurling racist comments at the Indian-American couple.
Racial Clash on LA Shuttle; Indian-American Family and 64-Year-Old Arlene Bunch Share Conflicting Accounts
Arlene Bunch gave her side of the story and alleged that she was also subjected to racial slurs and was called “white trash” before the camera started rolling.
Photographer Pervez Taufiq alleged that the woman was harassing his son, who was sitting beside her. She also asked his son to “just shut up” while on the bus.
The situation further aggravated when the woman broke into a racist tirade and started yelling at the Indian-American family.
Bunch said in the video,
“Your family is from India, you have no respect, you have no rules, you think you can push everyone, push, push, push. That’s what you think you are. You guys are f—–g crazy.”
Taufiq described the incident to the media house NYPost and said,
“It’s one of those things you feel like an out-of-body experience with. We’ve seen things like that on the internet; we just never thought we’d be in one.”
Later, Arlene Bunch added a new twist to the whole story and stated that she is a person of calm demeanour but often gets agitated due to the brain injury she sustained in an explosion last year.
Bunch told Fox11:
“[Taufiq] pushed me to the side to get in front of me, and the lady made him go back to the end of the line, and he’s talking to his wife, ‘Supposedly, they are first class. Obviously, with no class, and look at the way they’re dressed… they’re white trash.’ They were aggressive when we loaded the shuttle. He looks over to me and says, ‘Shut your big f—–g mouth, you white trash b—h,’ and then my husband steps in.”
