Actress Mita Vasisht selected for Cannes Film Festival

Mumbai, April 13 (IANS) Actress Mita Vasisht, known for her work in films like ‘Droh Kaal’ and ‘Dil Se..’ is heading to the Cannes Film Festival. Her film ‘The Shameless’ has been selected for screening at the festival. Mita shared the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement.

Mita Vasisht expressed her joy on Instagram: “We are at Cannes!!!! 2024! Shooting for THE SHAMELESS last year in Nepal…hadn’t realised that the next year meant I/we will be heading out to Cannes…it has still to sink in.”

‘The Shameless’ follows the story of Rani, an Indian sex worker who goes on a pilgrimage to a remote temple, confronting her past and a love affair with a man imprisoned for murder in Bengaluru. The film is directed by Bulgarian director Konstantin Bojanov and selected for the Un Certain Regard section of the festival.

The film is a collaboration of AKKA Films, Urban Factory, Klas Film, House on Fire Productions, with support from individuals in Nepal, India, France, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Taiwan. Cannes Film Festival presents a platform for international films to gain recognition and celebrate artistic diversity.
