CCI Snooker Classic: Jabalpur cueist Nikhilesh Pillai moves into the second round of qualifying stage

Madhya Pradesh cueist Nikhilesh Pillai emerged victorious in the first round of the CCI Snooker Classic 2024 at the CCI’s Sir Wilson Jones billiards hall in Mumbai. Pillai defeated home challenger Amitesh Goenka 3-0, with a break of 64 points setting the tone for his win in the Rs 12.5 lakh prize-money event organized by the Cricket Club of India.

In other matches, Siddharth Parikh showcased his skills with a 65 point break in the opening frame, securing a 3-0 victory against Hardik Kariya. Nikhil Saigal faced a tough challenge from Hyderabad’s Abed Sayed but managed to scrape through with a tight 3-2 win, sealing his victory with a break of 49 in the third frame.

Moving on to the third-round encounters, Rajeev Sharma outshone Marzdi Kalyaniwala with a quick 3-0 win, while Nikhil Ghadge fought hard to secure a 3-2 victory against a spirited Samarth Vernekar.

The first round of the tournament saw several other exciting matches, with Raj Charri, Samar Khandelwal, Rehan Patel, Raj Shetty, Jignesh Choksi, Md. Salim, Sukeel Venkatramani, and others emerging victorious.

In the second round, Danish Khan, Jayesh Salvi, Devendra Patel, and Nikhil Saigal advanced to the next round with their respective victories. Meanwhile, Siddharth Parikh secured his place in the third round with a convincing 3-0 win over Hardik Kariya.

The competition is heating up at the CCI Snooker Classic 2024, with talented cueists showcasing their skills and battling it out for victory in the prestigious tournament.
