CCL: Salman Khan's Mumbai Heroes beats Kerala Strikers by 8 runs

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Mumbai Heroes emerged victorious in the first match of the 2024 edition of the ‘Celebrity Cricket League’ (CCL) in Sharjah against Kerala Strikers. The star-studded affair witnessed top celebrities cheering on the teams.

The CCL format combines Test cricket with T20, each team getting 2 innings of 10 overs. Mumbai Heroes, led by Riteish Deshmukh, won the toss and chose to bat first, eventually securing a win with a target of 92 runs for Kerala Strikers in the second innings.

The match featured prominent personalities like Salman Khan, Bobby Deol, Suniel Shetty, Kiccha Sudeep, Daggubati Venkatesh, and Sohail Khan in attendance. Mumbai Heroes’ triumph places them at the top of the tournament’s points table.

In an interview during the match, Salman Khan expressed his team’s journey in CCL, stating, “When we started in the first year, I never thought that we will see 10 years. The simple reason was that they were not competing against each other.” He also highlighted the seriousness with which they approach the games at home.

Upcoming matches on Saturday will see Bhojpuri Dabbangs facing Telugu Warriors at 2:00 p.m., followed by Karnataka Bulldozers taking on Mumbai Heroes at 6:30 p.m. The action-packed matches can be streamed on JioCinema.
