Centre approves highway projects worth Rs 2,333cr in UP, Jharkhand
New Delhi: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced the approval of Rs 2,333 crore worth highway projects in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. In UP, a 29 km long 4-lane Jaunpur Bypass will be constructed at a cost of Rs 1894.76 crore on National Highway-135A to ease traffic congestion in Jaunpur city.
The development of the Greenfield Bypass in Jaunpur will provide connectivity to other national highways in the region and improve traffic flow. The project also includes a major bridge over river Ganga, enhancing the overall connectivity of the area. The aim is to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow while reducing travel time for road users.
In Jharkhand, approval has been granted for a 2-lane bypass road with paved shoulders around Giridih town on National Highway-114 at a cost of Rs 438.34 crore. The Giridih Bypass will significantly reduce travel time from Ranchi to Deoghar, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
These projects are part of the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity in various states. The approval highlights the commitment to enhancing transport networks and facilitating smoother travel for citizens. The construction of these highways is expected to boost economic growth and connectivity in the respective regions.
