Centre had no role in arrest of CM Kejriwal, says Pralhad Joshi

Bengaluru, March 22 (IANS) Union Minister for Mine, Coal and Law Pralhad Joshi clarified that the Central government played no part in the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Joshi, speaking in Hubballi, stated that Kejriwal’s arrogance and repeated disregard for summons led to his arrest.

Joshi highlighted that Kejriwal had been given multiple opportunities to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) but chose not to respond. Despite facing corruption allegations, Kejriwal failed to provide necessary information and instead approached the High Court for protection, which was denied. Joshi emphasized that Kejriwal’s lack of cooperation ultimately led to his arrest.

The Union Minister’s comments come in response to criticism surrounding Kejriwal’s arrest, with many questioning the involvement of the Central government in the matter. Joshi’s statement seeks to clarify that the arrest was a result of Kejriwal’s actions and non-compliance with legal proceedings, rather than any government intervention.
