Chandrayaan-3 Update: Pragyan Rover Detects Natural Events on Moon’s South Pole

On Thursday, ISRO, or the Indian Space and Research Organisation stated some natural events have been recorded on the moon. On the south pole of the moon, the Vikram lander’s Pragyan Rover module recorded certain natural events. Furthermore, the source detection is still under process.
ISRO went to X formerly known as Twitter and stated, “Chandrayaan-3 Mission: In-situ Scientific Experiments Instrumenhttps://www.gadgets360.com/tags/moont for the Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) payload on Chandrayaan 3 Lander — the first Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology-based instrument on the moon — has recorded the movements of Rover and other payloads. Additionally, it has recorded an event, appearing to be a natural one, on August 26, 2023. The source of this event is under investigation”.

On Tuesday the Indian Space and Research Organisation tweeted in a post on the social media platform, X. ISRO stated that the presence of Sulphur has been confirmed by the Rover on the moon. ISRO further added, “Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscope (LIBS) instrument onboard the Rover unambiguously confirms the presence of Sulphur (S) in the lunar surface near the south pole, through first-ever in-situ measurements. Al, Ca, Fe, Cr, Ti, Mn, Si, and O are also detected, as expected. Search for Hydrogen (H) is underway.”
On 25 August the Rover of Chandrayaan-3 ramped down to the lunar surface from the Vikram lander.
About the Mission
The Mission of Chandrayaan-3 has three components in total. The Rover module is used for exploring various components on the lunar surface, the Lander module is responsible for the soft landing of the craft, and the propulsion module transfers the rover and the lander module to the lunar orbit of 100 kilometers.
On 23 August, India achieved its first lunar mission on which day the lander module of Chandrayaan-3 landed successfully. The landing took place on the South pole of the moon. With the landing of Chandrayaan-3, India became the first country to land its lander module successfully on the south pole of the moon. This is a historic moment for India.
