Charlie Dean of England achieves career-high ranking of 2nd in women’s T20I rankings

New Delhi, April 2 (IANS) England’s Charlie Dean has achieved a career-best second position in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, just ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Dean rose nine places to second, while teammate Sophie Ecclestone retained the top spot for T20I bowlers.

Dean’s impressive performance as the leading wicket-taker against New Zealand in the five-match T20I series propelled her to second place, with fast bowler Lauren Bell also climbing six spots to secure a career-best 12th position. Star all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt and opener Maia Bouchier also saw significant improvements in their rankings.

England captain Heather Knight and young talent Alice Capsey also made gains in the latest rankings, with Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana moving up as well. The ODI rankings saw Australia’s Ellyse Perry and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates making strides, with England’s Amy Jones achieving a career-best 17th position after a stellar performance in Wellington.
