Let me tell you that the banned Communist Party of India took responsibility for the attack by issuing a statement regarding the Maoists attack on the Bijapur-Sukma border in Chhattisgarh. The maosits claimed in their statement that the missing CRPF jawan was in their possession. In the statement, the maoists had demanded intermediaries from the state government and said that only after that they will release the jawan.

In Chhattisgarh, 22 soldiers were martyred in the maoists attack and the soldier Rakeshwar Singh was missing. At the same time, 31 soldiers were injured in this attack.
