Chennaiyin Set to Face FC Goa in Final League Stage Match of ISL 2023-24

In-form Chennaiyin FC is set to take on FC Goa in their final league stage game of the ISL 2023-24 in Margao on Sunday. Chennaiyin has already secured a spot in the playoffs with three consecutive wins. Head coach Owen Coyle is confident about his team’s performance.

Coyle stated, “It’s only the first step on the journey. I’m a champion. I’m used to winning things. We always trust and knew. It’s never how you start; it’s how you finish in football. People remember how you finish games. And that’s what we had to make sure.”

With no impact on their standing, Chennaiyin might rest key players against FC Goa. Defender Bikash Yumnam praised Coyle for his support and encouragement towards young Indian players, mentioning his own improvement this season with 10 successful tackles.

Chennaiyin stands sixth on the points table with eight wins, while FC Goa holds the third position with 12 wins, including a six-match unbeaten streak. Goa had previously won their encounter with Chennaiyin this season, but historically, Goa has the advantage in head-to-head matches, winning 13 against Chennaiyin’s nine victories.

FC Goa will look to capitalize on their winning streak and secure a favorable position in the playoffs, setting the stage for an exciting match against Chennaiyin FC in Margao.
