Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai Opened to Public on This Day in 1887: Stunning Images of VT Station Which You Can’t Miss

Mumbai’s iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus was opened on June 20, 1887.  It’s one of the busiest railway stations in India. The station was generally known as Victoria Terminus and it was modified to the current one in March 1996 and is now generally known as CST (or VT/CSTM). The then Minister of Railways, Suresh Kalmadi has modified the title of the station.

The CSTM was put on the UNESCO World Heritage Record in 2004. The station serves because the headquarters of the Central Railways in Mumbai, India. The station boasts of wealthy heritage from the doorway, which is flanked by a lion and a tiger, thus representing two international locations Nice Britain and India.   The primary constructions of CSTM are made up of sandstone and limestone, and the interiors are made with high-quality Italian marble.
