China Wins Three Gold Medals at Badminton Asia Championships

In Ningbo, China’s badminton team excels in Badminton Asia Championships with three golds, three silvers, and seven bronze medals. Wang Zhiyi secures women’s singles title, Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang win men’s doubles, Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping triumph in mixed doubles, Jonatan Christie claims men’s singles, and Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee clinch women’s doubles.

At the Badminton Asia Championships, Wang Zhiyi defeated Olympic champion Chen Yufei in an all-Chinese women’s singles final, ending an eight-match losing streak against her. Wang expressed, “It’s not easy. I just got my first win against Chen, which gives me a lot of confidence,” after securing her second Asia title with a 21-19, 21-7 victory.

In the men’s doubles final, Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang emerged victorious over Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin after a tough battle, claiming their first-ever Asian title with a 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 win. China’s Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping also rallied to secure the mixed doubles title by defeating world champions Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung of South Korea.

Third-seeded Jonatan Christie from Indonesia clinched the men’s singles title by defeating China’s Li Shifeng, while South Korea’s Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee claimed the women’s doubles title by defeating China’s Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu. China’s badminton team showcased their prowess in the championships, dominating multiple categories and securing several titles.
