LOS ANGELES: Cillian Murphy has been tapped to star in and produce the film adaptation of ‘Blood Runs Coal’. Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Mark A. Bradley’s book, chronicling a shocking event that changed the course of American labour unions in the late 1960s in Pennsylvania’s coal mines.

The adaptation will be produced by John Davis, Jordan Davis, Cillian Murphy, and Alan Moloney. Murphy, known for his roles in ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’, will bring his talent to this historical drama.
