Actors Boman Irani, Rasika Dugal, and Rajshri Deshpande have inaugurated the Cinevesture International Film Festival 2024 (CIFF) in Chandigarh with a screening of the Cannes award-winning French film ‘The Taste of Things’ starring Juliette Binoche. The festival will showcase a diverse selection of films from March 27th to 31st.

Boman Irani expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s important for generations to come. I debut everything very late in life. It doesn’t matter when you start, as long as the start is beautiful.” Rasika Dugal shared her childhood memories of watching movies in Chandigarh and expressed her excitement for the festival. Rajshri Deshpande felt honored to be a part of the festival and emphasized the importance of exposure to world cinema for the younger generation.

Founder & CEO of Cinevesture, Nina Lath, and CIFF Director, V S Kundu, expressed their gratitude for the support received for the first edition of the festival. The festival will feature 25 award-winning international features, 16 indie gems, 30 shorts, a curated section of children’s films, and timeless classics. Artistic Director Bina Paul mentioned that the lineup of films will provide a glimpse into the world of meaningful cinema.

The festival will also host 20 masterclasses and panel discussions with film personalities such as Karan Johar, Tahira Kashyap, Abhay Deol, and others. The focus of the festival is on quality content, and the organizers aim to continue this trend in the future editions. Overall, the CIFF promises to be a celebration of world cinema and a platform for cinematic education and appreciation.
