‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ marks a new chapter in Varun Dhawan’s life, says Raj & DK
The upcoming streaming series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Prabhu will be India’s version of the global series ‘Citadel’, directed by Raj and DK. At a Prime Video event in Mumbai, the directors revealed the unique title and shared insights into the show’s development and cast.
Raj & DK explained the choice of the name, stating, “”We like to challenge ourselves with every project. This time we went to drama, action, and intense love story territory for the first time and we wanted a contrast title, something that still represents a quirk from us. So we thought of Honey Bunny, it is a term of endearment and at the same time, the characters are also called Hunny and Bunny.”
The directors also shared that the journey of creating ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ began pre-covid, and despite delays, they are ready for its release. They praised the cast, including Varun, Samantha, and KK Menon, highlighting the excitement of delving into new storytelling territory. The series is expected to showcase Varun Dhawan as a big action star in this new chapter of his career.
Aside from Varun Dhawan and Samantha Prabhu, ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ also features Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, and Sikandar Kher. Produced by D2R Films and directed by Raj & DK, the series is anticipated to premiere on Prime Video soon.
