CM of Punjab inaugurates Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in Mohali

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann vows to improve government institutions and provide superior facilities, addressing the neglect of past governments. Inaugurating the Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, he emphasized on offering affordable healthcare services to all citizens, surpassing private hospitals in technology and resources.

Mann criticized the previous Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress administrations for neglecting government institutions, leading to their deterioration and subsequent privatization. He highlighted the exorbitant costs of cancer treatment in private hospitals, making it unaffordable for many patients based on their economic status.

The Chief Minister unveiled plans to establish 45 maternity and child care centers in Punjab, with 37 already operational for public use. He also mentioned the establishment of 664 Aam Aadmi Clinics that provide free treatment to patients. The Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences stands as the second facility of its kind in the country and the first in Punjab with state-of-the-art equipment, surpassing private healthcare providers.

With a focus on enhancing healthcare services and facilities in government institutions, Mann aims to ensure that no citizen is denied access to essential services. The initiatives taken by the current government signify a commitment to improving the healthcare sector in Punjab and addressing the disparities in healthcare access among different segments of the population.
