Conducting Exercise to Select Candidates for Four Seats in Telangana

The Congress party in Telangana is finalizing candidates for the remaining four Lok Sabha seats, with top leaders in Delhi for the Central Election Committee meeting. There’s speculation about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s possible candidature from Khammam. The party has already announced candidates for 13 out of 17 seats.

The state election committee has submitted names for the four seats, awaiting approval. Joining of key leaders from Bharat Rashtra Samithi and numerous ticket aspirants caused delays. The CEC may decide on fielding Kadiyam Srihari or his daughter from Warangal, as leaders from BRS recently joined Congress.

Sitting MP Pasunuri Dayakar of BRS, who joined Congress after BRS named his daughter as candidate, is also seeking a ticket. Aspirants for Karimnagar include Teenmaar Mallanna, A. Praveen Reddy and Rajender Rao. R. Raghurami Reddy is a frontrunner for Khammam, with other strong contenders for different seats.

The Congress party had secured three Lok Sabha seats in 2019. The upcoming CEC meeting, presided over by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, is expected to finalize the candidates for Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, and Hyderabad constituencies. Stay tuned for updates on the final decisions.
