Confirmed Launch Timeline for Lamborghini Urus PHEV & Huracan Replacement

Lamborghini is gearing up to introduce a plug-in hybrid version of the Urus and a new supercar to replace the Huracan in their lineup. The Urus PHEV and the Huracan are set to launch in 2024, with expectations for both models to hit the Indian market as well.

The Urus, Lamborghini’s best-selling vehicle, offers a unique combination of SUV practicality and supercar performance. Unlike traditional supercars, the Urus’s SUV design provides ample ground clearance to navigate speedbreakers and potholes without any issues. In 2023, Lamborghini sold 6,087 Urus units globally and 103 units in the Indian market, making India one of the top 15 markets for the brand.

With a revenue of Euro 2.66 billion, Lamborghini saw a 12.1% increase from the previous year. The operating margin of 27.2% in 2023 reflects consistent growth since 2017, with an operating result exceeding Euro 700 million for the first time at Euro 723 million, a 17.8% increase from 2022.

The upcoming replacement for the Huracan has been spotted undergoing testing near the Sant’Agata Bolognese facility. Inspired by the Revuelto flagship motorcycle, the new supercar’s design hints at a departure from the naturally aspirated V10 engine due to emission regulations. Industry experts suggest the possibility of a twin-turbocharged V8 powertrain for the new model.
