Congress nominates Kadiyam Kavya from Warangal for LS Polls in Telangana

The Congress party has nominated Kadiyam Kavya as its candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat in Telangana. This decision was made by the Central Election Committee of the party in Delhi after Kavya joined Congress, leaving Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Kavya was initially named as the BRS candidate for Warangal, a reserved seat for the Scheduled Castes. However, she withdrew from the contest citing allegations of corruption and lack of coordination within the party. Following this, she and her father, Kadiyam Srihari, joined Congress in a meeting attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The Congress party has announced candidates for 14 out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. The remaining candidates for Khammam, Karimnagar, and Hyderabad constituencies are yet to be declared. The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee has urged the party’s central leadership to field AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi from Khammam, but there has been no response from the high command yet.
