Corona is not over, third wave will be more dangerous: CSIR Chief

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Director General Shekhar C Mande has warned about the third wave of Corona in India. Mande said that if people quit taking precautions, then it will have to suffer serious consequences.

Speaking at the ‘India’s response against Covid 19 virtual program, Mande said that India is not even close to achieving herd immunity. He appealed people to wear masks and follow social distancing. Shekhar C Mande said that people will have to take care of hand washing and other cleaning to avoid the virus.

Mande warned the people and the scientific community that the third wave would create a more dangerous situation than the challenges faced by the country so far.

Covid vaccine to be effective against new variants?

Mande hoped that the vaccine would be effective against the new variants of Corona coming out. He said, “There is no strong evidence that the vaccine will not be effective against mutated viruses.” We would like to believe that the vaccine will effect. ” He told that the vaccine has an effect against the entire virus, while mutation only occurs on one part of the virus.

Corona’s effect reduced due to these reasons?

The CSIR chief said that the decline in corona virus cases in India has come not because of herd immunity but because of other reasons. He said that one of the major reasons for the fall in cases is wearing masks and also people sitting outside in winter.

Mande said that the virus is less dangerous in the open environment, so it could be controlled in the winter. He further said that this is why the infection spread more in western countries, where people stayed indoors in winter.
