PM Modi has said that there is an urgent need to rein in the emerging second peak of the coronavirus epidemic in the country.

During a meeting with the Chief Ministers on Wednesday, PM Modi said, “In some states (COVID-19) the number of cases is increasing. This increase is more than 150 percent in 70 districts of the country. We must stop this emerging “second peak” of Corona immediately. For this, we have to take quick and decisive steps. ”

“From what we have reached today in the battle of Corona, it should not be changed into self-confidence, carelessness.” We do not have to bring the public in panic mode and also to get rid of trouble.

“We also need to be as serious about the test, track and treatment as we have been doing for the last one year.” It is very important to track the contacts of every infected person in the shortest possible time and keep the RT-PCR test rate above 70 percent. ”

“In many states, more emphasis is being laid on rapid antigen testing and the train is running in the same manner, such as Kerala, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, U.P. We have to emphasize on increasing RT-PCR test in all the states of the country. ”

“We should also work on the option of creating micro containment zones where necessary.”

“We have to increase testing in small cities. We have to pay special attention to the referral system and ambulance network in small cities. ”

“We should take the problem of vaccine dose wasting very seriously. In Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, the vaccine wastage is more than 10% and in Uttar Pradesh also the vaccine waste is almost same. Vaccine waste should be reviewed in the states.
