Dakota Johnson Tattoos and The Hidden Meaning Behind Them [2022]

The “Suspiria” star is no stranger to tattoos, recently Dakota Johnson revealed to her fans that she has 11 or 12 tattoos. While working on “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Dakota had to wear body makeup to cover her tattoos even to the point that the production had to use a butt double to prevent one of her mystery tattoos from showing.

Dakota Johnson has one tattoo of a small dying flower on her right forearm, it depicts the effects of climate change and reminds it to slow down and think about the earth and its climate too.

It is inked right below the word “tender”. She has stated tender is her favourite word. Dakota goer it inked in a cursive manner at the elbow. 

She has another tattoo of three birds flying on her right shoulder. This may be a tribute to her grandmother Tippi Hedren, who starred in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie  “The Birds.”

Apart from that, Dakota Johnson had a few tattoos here n there on her body like the phrase “look at the moon” surrounded by stars on her foot and the Spanish word “love” on her neck at the back. 

During her appearance on the Late Late Show with James Corden she said, she got her first tattoo at a very early age and the one she regrets the most. It was a Latin phrase “Acta non-Verba” — meaning “actions, not words” — her father Don Johnson’s favourite. She called the tattoo “too serious”. 

In 2018, Dakota Johnson along with her boyfriend Chris Martin got a matching tattoo of the infinity symbol. The tattoo signifies their everlasting love. Since then, they have been on and off but recently Dakota was seen earning a ring-sparking engagement. 

Earlier, Dakota Johnson once told Vogue that her favourite tattoo is the phrase “lightly, my darling,” written in white ink on her left wrist. Her half-sister Stella Banderas also has the same matching tattoo. It is a quote from the book of Aldous Huxley’s “Island”.
