Darshan Thoogudeepa, the famous actor from the Kannada industry, has been arrested along with his wife, Pavithra Gowda. According to allegations, they were involved in the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, hailing from Bengaluru.

In the wake of this, quite a few shocking revelations have emerged, explaining how Darshan engaged his fan club members and used his influence to commit the murder.

Allegedly, Renukaswamy created a fake Instagram account from which he used to send abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda. The victim was a fan of Darshan Thoogudeepa.

Due to rumors of an extramarital affair by Pavithra circulating on the internet that downgraded Darshan’s reputation, Renukaswamy was disheartened by this.

The police checked the messages Pavithra received from Renukaswamy.

Renukaswamy was discovered dead at Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru.

He was employed at an Apollo Pharmacy in Chitradurga.

What happened?

The investigation took a huge turn when Kesavamurthy, Karthik, and Raghavendra went to the police and confessed that they had murdered the 33-year-old and then dumped him.

However, the accused unveiled during interrogation that they were offered Rs 5 lakh to take the blame and not mention Darshan Thoogudeepa’s name.

Moreover, they were also assured that they would receive legal expenses.

Police sources state that the wife, Pavithra, provoked her husband to take serious actions against Renukaswamy.

As per sources, Raghavendra was the convenor of Darshan’s fan club in Chitradurga.

The former garnered information about Renukaswamy and sent it to Darshan.

According to Sahana, Renukaswamy’s wife, on the date of the incident, Raghavendra kidnapped the 33-year-old and took him to a shed in Pattangere.

According to India Today, on June 8, the day of the murder, Darshan went to the shed in the evening.

However, before the actor reached the place, hired men were already attacking Renukaswamy brutally. Sources added that Darshan whipped the victim with a belt upon arrival.

Darshan left the scene, and upon Renukaswamy’s death, Pradosh, a perpetrator, took Rs 30 lakh in cash from the actor to manage the situation.

When Karthik and his team received the money, they agreed to dispose of the dead body and then surrender before the police.

As per the sources, they were initially paid Rs 5 lakh.

The rest of the money was assured to be paid after the trial.

However, the remaining Rs 25 lakh was traced by the police, and they recovered it by “conducting a panchnama.”

Arrests and Discoveries

A food courier discovered the 33-year-old’s body.

He alerted the police when he saw dogs eating a dead body in a stormwater drain.

As the investigation continues, the involvement of Pavithra and Darshan comes into the limelight.

Thus, the duo was arrested with eleven others.

Names of the accused involved in the case include Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowdra, Raju, Ravi, Anu, Jagadish, Nikhil Nayak, Kesavamurthy, Karthik, Pradosh, Deepak, Laxman, Nagaraju, Vinay, Nandish, Raghavendra, and Pavan.

Police discovered that Darshan Thoogudeepa was updated on the entire scenario via WhatsApp on the night of the incident.

The husband and wife duo were apprehended on Tuesday from Darshan’s farmhouse in Mysuru.

They were later sent to Bengaluru for interrogation.

Later, Pavitra Gowda and Darshan Thoogudeepa were brought to Pattangere for a spot inquest at a shed on Wednesday.
