DC coach Ponting says Vizag is like our second home for this tournament, not just a neutral venue, ahead of IPL 2024’s first ‘home game’

Visakhapatnam, March 30 (IANS) Delhi Capitals are gearing up to face Chennai Super Kings at ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in their first home match of IPL 2024 on Sunday. After two consecutive losses, head coach Ricky Ponting is confident of turning things around against a strong CSK team.

Ponting expressed, “We could have easily won both our first games. We need to play consistently good cricket over 40 overs.” The team is looking to rectify their mistakes and show a more aggressive approach in the upcoming matches.

Emphasizing on the importance of a positive start in the tournament, Ponting mentioned, “It’s not a short tournament, but we have 12 games to play. We’ll have a more positive intent and be aggressive in this game.” The team is focused on playing their best cricket for the entire duration and aiming for a win.

Regarding playing two home matches in Visakhapatnam, Ponting clarified, “This is our second home for this tournament, this is not a neutral venue by any chance.” The team is determined to make Visakhapatnam a winning ground for them and is motivated to perform well in the upcoming matches.
