Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Celebrate Holi at Siachen Glacier

New Delhi, March 23 (IANS) – Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to visit the Siachen glacier to celebrate Holi with troops stationed at the world’s highest battleground. This visit is in solidarity with the soldiers serving in one of the most challenging terrains in the world.

The Siachen glacier holds strategic military importance, and preparations are currently underway for the Minister’s visit. This will not be Minister Rajnath Singh’s first visit to the military outpost, as he had previously visited in 2019. During his earlier visit, he interacted with the troops, gaining insights into their experiences and challenges, while assuring them of the government’s commitment to their welfare and safety.

Additionally, during his previous visit, the Union Minister had also announced the opening of the glacier for tourism, allowing civilians to witness the unique environment and understand the sacrifices made by the soldiers stationed there. Rajnath Singh’s upcoming visit is another show of support and solidarity for the brave troops serving in this harsh and demanding location.

The celebration of Holi at the Siachen glacier by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh serves as a symbol of appreciation and gratitude towards the soldiers who work tirelessly to safeguard the nation’s borders in some of the most extreme conditions.
