Delhi CM alleges BJP obstructing construction of Mohalla Clinics

New Delhi, March 9 (IANS) – Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to obstruct the construction of Mohalla Clinics during his address to the Legislative Assembly. Kejriwal also criticized the BJP for ongoing probes against opposition leaders by central agencies. He remarked, “If Shri Ram had been in this era, the BJP would have sent ED and CBI to his home and put a gun to his head and asked if he was joining the BJP or going to jail.”

Reflecting on the budget discussion, Kejriwal expressed his thoughts on his colleague and former Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, calling him his younger brother. He stated, “Today when we are having a discussion on the budget, I am remembering my younger brother Manish Sisodia. The last nine budgets were presented by Manish Sisodia. This is the 10th budget of our government and I hope that he will present the 11th budget of our government in this Assembly next year.”

Kejriwal’s remarks come amidst a backdrop of political tension between the AAP and the BJP. The construction of Mohalla Clinics has been a key initiative for the AAP in providing accessible healthcare to Delhi residents. The accusations made by Kejriwal suggest a larger political motive behind the alleged obstructions faced in the project by the BJP.

The statements made by Kejriwal highlight the ongoing political discourse in Delhi, with the AAP continuing to push their healthcare agenda while also addressing the challenges faced from the opposition. The remarks made in the Legislative Assembly shed light on the intense political climate in the capital city, as parties clash over key policy initiatives and probes against opposition members.
