The Delhi court has granted bail to Environment Activist Disha Ravi on a bond of Rs 1 lakh. The Patiala House Court heard the bail petition of Climate Activist Disha Ravi on 23 February in the case of a toolkit related to the farmers’ movement.
Earlier on Monday, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma sent Ravi for one-day police custody for questioning. In this case, two suspects Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk have also been questioned by the Cyber Cell of Delhi Police. These two are currently on transit bail.
Delhi Police on Monday presented Disha Ravi in court after the three-day judicial remand ended. He opposed the plea of the investigators through his lawyer, saying that the people with whom he is to be confronted are on bail. However, the prosecution said that Jacob and Muluk could be arrested if needed.
Referring to the provisions of the law, the prosecution said that the custodial interrogation can be done only for 15 days after the arrest. He said, “All the three accused were involved. We have to face all three. We have only seven days for custodial interrogation. “
Disha Ravi was arrested on February 13
Delhi Police arrested Disha Ravi from Bengaluru on February 13 in connection with the investigation of the ‘Toolkit Google Document’ released on social media to support the farmer movement. In this case, the Bombay High Court granted transit bail to Jacob and Muluk.
Police had alleged that the toolkit was part of a global conspiracy to create unrest and spread violence in India under the guise of farmers’ protests against agricultural laws.
