Delhi HC instructs Ashneer Grover to remove tweets against BharatPe and its Chairman

The Delhi High Court has directed Ashneer Grover, former MD of BharatPe, to delete tweets against the company and its officials. The court also ordered the removal of a tweet where he called the Chairman of the BharatPe Board, Rajnish Kumar, as “petty people”.

Despite previous court orders and undertakings, Ashneer continued to post defamatory tweets about BharatPe and its officials. The court noted that his actions were in violation of the spirit of the court’s previous orders and undertakings.

In addition to his tweets, Ashneer had also written to the RBI requesting an investigation into the shareholding of BharatPe. The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) recently dismissed his challenge to its jurisdiction regarding the claw back of his shares in the company he co-founded.
