The Delhi NCR on Friday night, was hit by a 6.4-magnitude earthquake.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in Nepal and as per reports. A powerful earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale has hit the mountainous nation. According to BBC, over 150 people have lost their lives in Nepal.
As stated above, the aftershocks of the earthquake in Nepal were also felt in many parts of Northern India including the capital region of Delhi. The quake effects were also felt in cities like Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Agra. However, thankfully no casualty has been reported in any region.
As per the NCS, the epicenter of the quake was located in Nepal at a depth of 10 kilometers and the aftershocks were also felt in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
The alarmed residents rushed out of their homes into the open.
According to experts, Nepal and the whole Himalayan region are sitting in a seismically active region. The pressure built up by the colliding tectonic plates is making the region seismically hyperactive.
It is predicted that the region will be hit by a major earthquake shortly and experts are warning that the destruction caused by such a quake will be devastating.
