Delhi Police awards viral stunt driver with ‘ticket to fame’
New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) The Delhi Police have responded to a viral video featuring dangerous stunts performed in a Mahindra Scorpio with tinted glass on the capital’s roads. Anshul Chaudhary, the SUV driver, has been issued challans for his irresponsible actions, according to a statement by Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey.
The police acted quickly upon noticing the viral videos of stunt driving on Twitter and apprehended the culprit, Anshul Chaudhary, a resident of Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, with the help of the Shastri Park police station team. Chaudhary has been charged under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, with a challan amounting to around Rs 12,000. DCP Tirkey stated that Chaudhary committed the offense of creating reels to gain fame on social media platforms.
The incident took place on a busy road in Delhi on Wednesday when videos of a black Mahindra Scorpio SUV performing dangerous stunts surfaced on Twitter, prompting the police to take action. A police team immediately alerted the respective Station House Officers (SHOs) to monitor the vehicle’s movements. The team successfully intercepted the black Mahindra Scorpio SUV with extravagant registration plates and Z-black tinted glass. The vehicle has been taken to the Shastri Park police station for further investigation.
